Letting Go is hard

Waiting. It’s not easy, is it? Whether you’re waiting on a job, a relationship, healing, or an answer that seems long overdue, it can feel like you’re stuck in limbo—praying, hoping, and wondering if God hears you. And let’s be honest, patience? That’s a tough lesson to learn.

We often think of patience as just sitting around, waiting for something to happen. But it’s more than that. It’s about trusting that God is working even when we can’t see it. Romans 8:25 says, "But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently." It’s not wasted time—it’s time God uses to shape us, strengthen us, and prepare us for what’s coming.

Trusting God When You Can’t See the Outcome

Ever feel like God’s taking too long? We all do. But Isaiah 40:31 reminds us, "But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles..." God isn’t just making you wait to test you—He’s moving things behind the scenes, getting everything in place. Sometimes the blessing isn’t delayed; it’s just being prepared.

Letting Go and Letting God

Here’s the hard part: surrender. We love to hold onto control, trying to figure everything out on our own. But Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding..." Waiting is an act of surrender, a chance to let go of our plans and trust that God’s timing is always better than ours.

Encouragement for the Journey

If you’re in a waiting season, don’t lose heart. God sees you. He hears you. And when the time is right, He’ll open doors you never expected. In the meantime, find peace in the present, lean into Him, and know—without a doubt—that your waiting is not in vain.
You’re not alone in this. And one day, you’ll look back and see exactly why the wait was worth it.

Grief, as much as we might wish otherwise, is an emotion that doesn't conveniently pack its bags and take off after a set period. It settles in and becomes an enduring part of us, like a tattoo on the heart. Whether it’s been two months or two years, the longing for a lost friend, brother, or child can still catch us by surprise, sweeping over us like an unexpected breeze. It’s those small moments—the favorite song coming on the radio, the scent of their favorite meal cooking, or a shared joke echoing in our mind—that bring back a flood of memories and the realization of their absence.

In those moments of overwhelming emotion, Our family has found solace in a companion that’s been a true blessing: Young Living’s Peace & Calming essential oil. Over the last few days, especially as we marked the two-year anniversary of my sons best friends passing, this gentle blend became a comforting presence in our lives. Just a few drops diffused in the living room or added to a relaxing bath at night seemed to wrap us in a reassuring embrace.

While Peace & Calming doesn’t erase the loss or the longing—I wouldn't want it to, as those feelings are tied to someone truly loved—it has helped me find a semblance of tranquility amidst the stormy sea of emotions. Its soothing, sweet fragrance helps ease the tension each time that wave of grief washes over me, allowing me to take a deep breath and find a moment of peace.

If you're navigating the turbulent waters of grief, as many of us are, I encourage you to be gentle with yourself. Allow the memories to come and go freely, acknowledging the pain but also cherishing the love that remains. And, if you haven't already, consider inviting Peace & Calming into your self-care routine. It’s not a magic wand, but it helps illuminate a path towards finding peace in the quiet moments and acts as a supportive friend on the journey through grief. Remember, it’s okay to feel, and it’s okay to seek support, whether from a cherished aroma or a community of empathetic hearts who walk this path beside you.

Meet Greg and Sheri

Hello,
We are Greg and Sheri and are so happy you made it to our page!
We are empty nesters that have 5 children and 2 grandchildren between us.
Greg is an IT guy and we are hoping to retire him at the beginning of the year. We want to move to southern  Minnesota to be near family.
I have had gastric bypass and done very well. I had it August 29th 2022 and I have lost after 101 pounds so far.  Talk about a learning curve but was so happy when my nutritionist encouraged Ningxia Red daily as a readily absorbable nutrition. I drink 2 to 4 ozs a day.
We love to travel and to sporting events for our 2 grands!  We have 4 cats that absolutely drive Greg Crazy! He secretly loves them anyway.
